Beckhill (or Beck Hill) is a small council estate in the Meanwood area of Leeds; which has received negative local publicity in the past, but is now the subject of urban regeneration. The area is situated south of Stainbeck Road and north of Potternewton Lane. To the East is the Miles Hill Estate. Beckhill falls within the Chapel Allerton ward of Leeds City Council. Buslingthorpe is an area of Leeds It is about one mile north of the city centre and currently falls within the Hyde Park and Woodhouse ward of the City of Leeds Council. Much of the housing in the area was demolished by slum clearance in the 1950s. Chapel Allerton is an inner suburb of north-east Leeds, 2 miles (3.2 km) from the city centre. Chapeltown is a suburb of north-east Leeds. It is part of the Leeds City Council Ward of Chapel Allerton. It is approximately one mile north of Leeds city centre. Chapeltown has been the scene of rioting, with disturbances in 1975, 1981 and 1987. Little London is a residential area of Leeds, north of the city centre and Leeds Inner Ring Road. It is so called because in the 19th century it had fashionable housing and interesting architecture comparable with London. Lovell Park is an inner-city area of Leeds. The area falls within the Hyde Park and Woodhouse ward of the Leeds Metropolitan Council. Miles Hill is a district in Leeds. It is about 1.5 miles (2 km) north of Leeds city centre and is situated between Meanwood and Chapel Allerton next to Beck Hill. The district is located in the Chapel Allerton ward of Leeds Metropolitan Council. Potternewton is a suburb and parish between Chapeltown and Chapel Allerton in north-east Leeds. It is in the Chapel Allerton ward of Leeds City Council. Scott Hall is a suburb of north-east Leeds, adjacent to Chapeltown and Meanwood. The suburb falls within the Chapel Allerton and Moortown wards of Leeds City Council. It is made up largely of 1930s council housing on both sides of Scott Hall Road (and streets beyond) from Buslingthorpe Lane in the south to Potternewton Lane in the north. Sheepscar is an inner city district of Leeds, lying to the north east of Leeds city centre. The district is in the City of Leeds Metropolitan Council. It is overlooked by the tower blocks of Little London and Lovell Park to the west, and gives way to Meanwood in the north-west, Chapeltown in the north-east and Burmantofts in the east.
